MD33 Youth Camp & Exchange
** We are looking for Host Families and Volunteers ***
Each year the MD33 Youth Camp and Exchange (YCE) Program hosts visiting youth from foreign
countries in Massachusetts. The program allows young people between the ages of 15 and 22 to create and foster a spirit of
understanding among peoples of the world. By providing an avenue for global fellowship, the YCE program aims to help youth initiate, grow, and maintain international relationships promoting cultural education and international peace. For 2023, the MD33 Youth Camp and Exchange will be welcoming 20 guests (12 boys and 8 girls), ranging in age from 16 to 20, from the following 14 countries:
Brazil
France - 2
Germany - 2
Greece
Hungary
Indonesia
Israel
Italy - 2
Lithuania
Netherlands
Poland - 2
Slovakia - 2
Spain - 2
Turkey
The young people first stay with host families from Thu July 20 to the morning of Sun July 29. We are looking for volunteers to host one or two students during this time. This can be an enriching experience for both the guests and the hosts. You would welcome the guests into your home and they would participate with your family in activities and any summer fun you would like to do Then, we have the camp from Sun July 29 to Sat Aug 5 where the young people would stay in an area hotel, and go on engaging, fun, and educational field trips every day to see local sites that showcase some of the things which make Massachusetts great. Examples include Faneuil Hall, a Boston hospital, Harvard University, a robotics lab, a baseball game, etc.
We are looking for volunteers to act as van drivers and/or chaperones during this week.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering, please contact DG Marianna Riemer or Andrew Keane, Chairman - [email protected]
